Persol Sunglasses
The famous fashion accessory known as Persol sunglasses have a rich tradition dating back to 1917. It started when a man by the name of Giuseppe Ratti, who owned a glasses company named Berry Opticians, began making glasses designed to satisfy the demands of pilots and sports drivers who required comfort, protection and superior vision. As a result Protector glasses were born, made using round smoked lenses with rubber edges and attached to the head using an elastic band.
From their Persol sunglasses were born. They gained fast popularity and truly revolutionized the world of sunglasses in terms of quality and ease of wearing. The extraordinary characteristics that made these shades such an innovative product were their neat design, crystal lenses, the Silver Arrow and the Meflecto patent, a system designed to make the stems flexible and offer maximum all around comfort.

Quality
These sunglasses are made by hand with the highest quality materials. Persol frames take twice as long to produce as simple acetate frames because the process to make the iconic Arrow and Meflecto system, which is unique to Persol, requires manual workmanship due to the fact that it cannot be automated.
Comfort
Each pair of sunglasses are essentially “made to measure” to provide the most comfort as possible. They undergo a special process called “telatura” that consists of eliminating edges on the underside of the bridge to make the fit more comfortable. These sunglasses also come equipped with a foldable acetate frame which was the first of its kind.
Lenses

The Meflecto, which was patented in the 1930s, became the world’s first flexible stem system. The Maflecto system was designed for maximum comfort by eliminating pressure on the head from the arms of glasses. This system represents a true technologically unsurpassed solution as it is able to adapt to the unique shape of any face.
The Arrow
The Arrow is an iconic symbol of Persol which was inspired by the swords of ancient warriors. The original arrow design was called Simplex, but has since then evolved through continual technical and design adjustments. These adjustments led to a new name for the symbol, the Supreme Arrow, which is currently used in Persol collections. The Supreme Arrow includes numerous versions as well known as the Supreme 85, Supreme 60 mini, the Supreme 45 and many more.
