Persol Roadster
Have a passion for roadsters? As some of you may know the first roadsters were introduced in the early 1900's in Italy and were designed for racing. Roadsters dominated the racing scene for quite some time and gained extreme popularity from car enthusiasts the world over.
Securing a place in racing history, the roadster is an awesome piece of Italian engineering that is a combination of design and innovation. It just so happens that Persol sunglasses were first worn by race car drivers, specifically those driving Italian roadsters. Keeping this in mind, Persol was looking for a way to recapture and also relive the roadsters glory days.
The company thought it would be neat to go ahead and recapture the rich tradition of the roadster only in a slightly different form. A form that was more attainable for every roadster enthusiast whether you are lucky enough to own one or not. With that in mind the Italian sunglasses company decided to model a style of sunglasses to resemble the classic car. The result was the Persol Roadster edition style of sunglasses.
The Persol Roadster edition frames are directly inspired by the classic, fluid form of the Roadster with small metal rivets embellishing the top frame of the glasses making it seem as if they were taken straight from the car itself. The style also features a lined pattern on the inside arm of the sunglasses to reflect the lines of the powerful Roadster radiator. Another cool feature is that the arms of the sunglasses mirror the shape and style of a Roadster door handle. The Roadster edition is available in two different models, 3009S TF and the 3008S GT.
Both Roadster models are very cool and slick looking. The 3008S GT is more of a low-profile style while the 3009S TF is a more masculine pilot-style version. Both models come with polarized lenses that actually darken as the day gets brighter. This considerately reduces glare from the sun and makes both models great to wear while driving. Each model also comes in five different color variations.
